GoWorkout is a training app. To build a plan that suits you it has to know some things about your body, your schedule and your health. This page says exactly what those things are, where they go, and how to get rid of them.
Who we are
GoWorkout operates this website and the GoWorkout mobile app. For questions about anything on this page, write to hello@goworkout.in.
What the app collects
Everything below is collected because a feature needs it. Nothing is collected in order to sell it, and GoWorkout does not sell personal information.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address, and a password or a Google, Apple or phone sign-in | To create your account, sign you in, and reset your password. |
| Name, date of birth, gender, height and weight | To size your plan and estimate energy expenditure. |
| Country and time zone | To decide which day counts as today, and when reminders fire. |
| Your goal, experience level, training location, equipment, available days and session length | To generate a plan you can actually carry out. |
| Injuries and medical conditions you choose to declare | To substitute movements that would be unsafe for you. This is health data, and it is the reason the app is careful with it. |
| Sleep, stress and activity answers, and diet preference | To set recovery expectations and calorie and macro targets. |
| Workout sessions, logged sets, reps, weights, and your energy and recovery ratings | To track progress, and to re-evaluate the plan each week. |
| Body measurements and progress photos, if you add them | To show change over time. Photos are optional, and they are stored for you rather than shared. |
| Messages you send to the AI Coach | To answer them, and to keep the conversation readable when you come back to it. |
| Device push token | To send the reminders you have switched on. Removed when you turn reminders off or sign out. |
| App usage events and crash reports | To see which screens get used, and to fix crashes. |
| Subscription receipts | To confirm a purchase with the store that issued it. Card and payment details never reach GoWorkout. |
Who processes it
GoWorkout uses a small number of service providers. Each receives only what its job needs.
- Google Firebase for sign-in, progress photo storage, push notifications, analytics and crash reporting.
- AI model providers (Anthropic and Google, depending on which model handles a request) to generate plans and answer coach messages. Requests carry the training context needed to answer them.
- Resend to send account emails such as password resets.
- Apple and Google to take payment and to verify subscription receipts.
- Fly.io to host the API and its database.
How long it is kept
Account and training data is kept while your account exists, because the plan depends on your training history. Delete the account and it goes, as described below. Crash reports and usage analytics are retained by the provider on its own schedule.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app, under Profile, then Settings, then Account. Deletion removes your profile, plans, sessions, measurements, progress photos and coach conversations. It is not reversible.
If you cannot reach the app, email hello@goworkout.in with the subject "Delete my account". We will confirm you own the address before deleting anything.
Your choices
- Injuries, medical conditions, lifestyle answers, target weight and progress photos are all optional. A plan is still built without them.
- Push notifications stay off until you allow them, and can be turned off again in the app or in your phone's settings.
- You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it, at hello@goworkout.in.
Children
GoWorkout is not intended for anyone under 16, and accounts are not knowingly created for them. If you believe a child has an account, write to us and we will remove it.
This is not medical advice
GoWorkout generates training and nutrition suggestions from what you tell it. It is not a doctor, a physiotherapist or a dietitian, and it cannot examine you. Talk to a qualified professional before starting a new programme, particularly if you are managing an injury or a medical condition.
Changes
When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change materially affects how your data is handled, we will say so in the app before it takes effect.
